Why I choose Aboul Fotouh

The Egyptian presidential elections and candidtates are the center of everyone's talk right now. What really amazes me these days, is that when a supporter of a certain candidate is asked about why they support him, they state the cons of the other candidates instead, and I find this quite annoying and ethically unacceptable. I respect all the candidates and believe they all have the right to run for presidency and really wish for fair play, yet my mind is inclined toward a certain candidate for a number of reasons.

Dr. Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh is my choice. I have read parts of his agenda and liked what I read. His campaign I should say is well-organized from the very beginning and the way he chose his team members is very thoughtful and successful. Moreover, the fact that he actually was a prominent figure in the Muslim Brotherhood does not scare me or turn me against him as it does many people. Agree or disagree with the MB, not one Egyptian can deny that it is a strong and well-rooted party. For many years it has been the only prominent oppositon in Egypt, which makes its leaders and members politically capable.

Aboul Fotouh has always been known for his intolerance of some the MB's inner policies, nevertheless, he has always confirmed that his resignation does not mean that he does not believe in Hassan el Banna's ideas and what the MB originally stood for, he said clearly that he had an administrative role in the guidance bureau and resigned it but still adopts the core beliefs of the MB.

Like many Egyptians, at first I was suspitious that his resignation from the MB was just a charade and that he is their  presidential candidate, but after they put El Shater and Morsy as their candidates I was deeply relieved.
To me, he is a reformer with an islamic background, clear about his stances, confident and a humanitarian.
No one can deny his role in the Arab Medical Union and the relief campaigns he helped send to many distressed countries and regions.  I chose Aboul Fotouh because I believe he represents all Egyptians; deeply religious yet liberal. We love our religion each in their own way and refuse to be told how to worship God or what to wear.

I am not saying he is  flawless, nor would I blindly support him.  I believe whoever becomes president should never become idolized, this reign is over. There is no such thing as a one man show in our country anymore, nor are there gods and father figures. A president is a civil servant whose work should be profoundly and critically scrutinized and evaluated. Critical as it is to choose a suitable person for this extremely difficult stage, the next president is never going to work magic.  All we need is a trusted figure, and a hardworking dedicated government, and our own hands to start the long-awaited journey of rebuilding our precious Egypt.

This is only our first ever real presidential elections, and all I wish for is stability for my country. I want to see my country econimically and politically strong without losing its identity, and its people prosperous and productive. God bless Egypt.

؟؟؟

Third one :)

The power of the thought :)

How powerful can a tiny new born idea in some dreamer's head be?? What are the standards by which you could tell this is a great idea or just a good one?? Is the thought itself the important part, or what follows? Is a great idea sufficient to change the world,  mere coincidence, or utter hard work?? Can an idea come to your mind just like that?? Or is it an accumulation of things you have experienced and seen?? Can a great idea work its way up just because it was a great idea in the first place?? Can an OK idea use the help of painstaking hard work and become a great one?? Does luck play a major role in making any given idea work?? What exactly is luck?? Is it something you can count on?? Are all great ideas capable of changing the world, or at least the worlds of those who created them?? How do you know that what you just came up with will be a hit?? Is one able to evaluate one's own ideas??

In my humble opinion, none of these questions matters, what really matters is that we should never stop thinking and dreaming of a better world. Pursue your dreams and believe in your ideas, maybe they are actually great ones.

second post :)

Hello,

This is my second post, it has been a while since I last wrote here. I am not actually sure what to write about this time, whether I shall continue my first note or write a new one.  Well, I think I am so much into understanding the nature of people and how they pull themselves up and become the strong well-put together people we (doubtful beings) wish to be like.

Speaking of strong people, appearances can be very deceiving. There is this person who is really lively and seems to have it all, or at least this is what I thought until I was told about their past. This person was a very regular kid that had their own low self-esteem problems, things that could have turned them into a social introvert or, to say the least, a loser. At first I did not believe their story, as the person I see before me now is a really confident, outspoken and lively one. I was really touched by their story and how strong-willed this person is to turn everything in their own favor and overcome anything that would lower their self-esteem.

It is really nice that now everybody, including those who have known this person in the past, have forgotten the way they used to look before, everybody but this particular person. This very person should never forget what they were like in the past, so they would always remember how great and strong-willed they really are. It is not what we are born like, it is how we change the winds to our own favor that counts and the stronger the wind is, the more muscles it takes us to change it. At any age and under any circumstances it is still possible to be the person you want to be.

My first blog :)

This is my very first attempt to blog my thoughts, in fact I have written a few lines both in Arabic and English before but really today felt the urge to create my own blog and start writing steadily "hopefully"...I really feel that writing relieves me as I am not very good with talking. When I start talking about a certain feeling of mine, be it happy or sad, I tend to get really emotional and cry in the middle, if not at the beginning, of my words. This really annoys me as I do not like to be seen weak.

All my life, I have admired strong personalities, people who could curb their emotions and am hundred percent convinced that they reach their goals in life. Nevertheless, I have also admired very much emotional people, related to them, felt them, and definitely fell in love with them. Emotions, in my humble opinion, are a bliss and a curse. People that have them in excess hate them and want to hide them, and those that can not show them....well, are psychologically troubled, I guess!!!

Whenever I think of strong determined people, a certain figure comes to mind. It is actually someone I know really well. A hardworking perfectionist is the best way I could describe this person. I actually admire this person's determination and will and wish I could be the same, but sometimes I ask myself... is that person really happy?? I really can not tell....I mean they look picture perfect in everyone's eyes, but is this really what matters?? What people think of you???

Unfortunately, day after day, I come to realize that this is really what matters to 99% of beings, what others think of them, their image....I myself think that what others think of you is really important, yet, what about being you?? Doing what you really love to do?? Being yourself? Being different?

To Be Continued ....
